Exitting bear call spread or bull put spread

In option trading web/mobile app, how does one exit both the legs of bear call spread or bull put spread with one button?

does it require us to click “exit all positions” more than once?

also, if it were to be done by the algo, how should one approach the sequencing?

Hey @mnikhil, you can exit both legs together if only those 2 positions are live. If you have other open trades, just select the 2 legs and exit them no need to click ‘exit all positions’ multiple times. For algo execution, the sequence usually goes with exiting the sell position first, followed by the buy position, to ensure hedge benefit.

@mnikhil if u don’t have enough margin to hold the sell position with out the hedge leg then selecting both and clicking on “exit all positions” will just exit the sell leg. This is due to Dhan system expecting more margin than required momentarily.

Exit all is mostly Exit one by one for me defeating the very purpose of the button because of this…:slightly_smiling_face:

Might not be super convenient for you, but it’s a blessing for me.

Now I can exit 2–3 highly volatile positions with almost zero execution lag. One click and everything fills near market price — we’re talking a difference of just 0.02–0.06 paisa in stocks in Dhan, versus other brokers where slippage is often more than 0.75 on average.

Good fills. Good life. :white_check_mark:

@mnikhil seems to be trading FnO. Now he will be aware about what the button can do and cannot do :slightly_smiling_face:. Just going by the name is misleading.
