I’ve been wondering how traditional logistics companies continue to thrive despite their outdated approaches.

Recently, after completing the Ladakh circuit, I needed to ship my motorcycle from Delhi to back home. From some YouTube videos, I learned that some riders used VRL’s caged transportation service for bikes. So, I searched online to find their Delhi office. Their website wasn’t clear about their office location, and Google Maps addresses for VRL that turned out to be loading areas, not booking offices, according to reviews.

I’ve had not so happy experiences with old-school courier companies too. Finding their offices is a hassle, and they often promise door-to-door delivery when booking, only to inform you later that you need to collect the parcel in person from their nearest office, as they don’t actually offer door delivery.

Unless you know someone who’s used these services and can guide you to the right place, it’s tough to use services of old school logistics companies.

How are these companies still in business? Would love to hear your insights on this.
