Just to clarify, the applicable deadline is 31st January, 2026 only.
I received this from one of my brokers. It states that the deadline is 31st December 2025.
Given the amount of confusion surrounding this, I honestly don’t think it will ever be practically implemented in India.
It feels like someone with no real-world experience has tried to apply a framework picked up from a book written by a foreign author, without understanding how things actually work here.
CIRCA, 2025: “The IP must be registered in your name or in the name of your immediate blood relatives (father, mother, spouse, or children).”
I mean, reading all this nonsense in 2026—you don’t need comics for a good laugh.
Spouse is not a blood relative (in most cases atleast) 
This is to allow use of single IP by closest family members (residing in the same residence)

its a bullshit scheme its should have been for those who are big player or atleast for those deploye sizable amount of capital like 1crore for a retail who deploy just 10-20lac its disgusting

Considering the combined amount of time wasted on drafting the circular and the efforts of all stock brokers in India trying to create their own interpretations, this has turned into a total waste of this country’s manpower that could have been put to far more productive use.
